Agro Enterprise Centre (AEC), an agricultural technical wing of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), is involved in policy advocacy, promotional and support activities required for agro-business development and agriculture commercialisation in Nepal. For running its programs activities, AEC invites application from Nepali professionals for the following positions on annual-contract-basis. Depending on the performance the service period is extendable. Duty station for all the positions are based in Kathmandu, with frequent travel to program areas in different districts.
Position: Deputy Director Agro Business & Marketing Development - 1
Duties and Responsibilities: The Deputy Director Agribusiness Development and Marketing will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following:
- Develop systems to track agricultural production, trade, technology, price related information (database, regulations/standards, notifications/ circulars, tariff, policies etc) and implement
- Assist in preparing business/marketing plans, relevant studies; in promoting brand of Nepalese high value products; in linking programs with government, private sector, and other stakeholders, etc.
- Take in charge of agribusiness related market information services to be provided by AEC
Qualifications and Experiences:
- MBA (Marketing / business development) or M.Sc. (agro-economics) or Masters in Post-Harvest Technology
- 1 year experience in related field (details in TOR)
Position: Deputy Director Agribusiness Policy - 1
Duties and Responsibilities: The Deputy Director Agro Business, Policy will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following:
- Assist formulates, coordinate, manage and implement agro business, trade, and policy related programs of AEC.
- Involve in preparing relevant studies/case studies for policy advocacy; in linking programs with government, private sector, and other stakeholders, etc.
- Track trade (WTO, SAFTA, BIMSTEC, Bilateral agreements) related information for enhancing competitiveness of Nepalese agricultural products.
- Analyse competitiveness of some Nepalese agricultural products focusing on identification of policy issues and constraints.
Qualifications and Experiences:
- M.Sc.(agro-economics, trade,) MBA (International business; trade) and any other relevant field in Agriculture.
- 1 year experience in related field (details in TOR)
